I can’t wait. But I will (Cardinal Directions)

This is not a disclaimer
(only fine print)
This is not a couplet
but I am sure
a pattern will appear
if you look for it…

This is a reminder
(to me)
to enjoy it while it lasts
If it lasts through the night
I will enjoy it
If it lasts the rest of our lives…

If you want me to find you
use cardinal directions
or take me places
I have never been
then
give me your compass

Red Supergiant to the West

Sometimes it is difficult
to discern
whether or not the stars
are aligning
or about to explode.
I go all in either way

Once upon a time
while bartending,
I felt a cork slip
my grip,
time dissolved as the track light
caught each drop of floating champagne,
the word “kaleidoscope” was born,
Oasis crossed my mind,
and I didn’t care about the future
(the mess I was making).
This is Supernova,
the brightest waterfall
I would ever be under,
my final thought before
time reconvened

Tonight when I saw
that red star twinkling
it was hard to look away
I wanted to stare
until it disappeared
Not to witness its end,
but to participate
in that moment
when it outshines
an entire galaxy,
swallowing time
in its wake

Core Memories & Time Travel

 I feel sound knowing

that revisiting

memories

I think changed me

the most,

repeatedly,

while still loving myself

is why

forgiveness

is easy for me
